DESCRIPTION:
Absorbable surgical film made from TephaFLEX material provides surgeons with an easy-to-handle tissue support membrane that offers a combination of strength, toughness, and flexibility for a variety of surgical procedures.
INDICATIONS FOR USE*:
- Temporary wound support
- Reinforcement of soft tissues
- Also may help minimize the potential for tissue attachment to the device
The TephaFLEX® surgical film was determined substantially equivalent by the Food and Drug Administration for the following indications for use:
“The TephaFLEX® surgical film is designed to be used wherever temporary wound support is required, to reinforce soft tissues where weakness exists in the urological, gynecological, or gastroenterological anatomy, or for the repair of hernia or other fascial defects that require the addition of a reinforcing or bridging material to obtain the desired surgical results. The absorbable protective film also may help minimize the potential for tissue attachment to the device in case of direct contact with the viscera.”
TephaFLEX® film is available in thickness of film from 60 to 200 microns and may be cut to the shape or size desired for a specific application.
