Our Board of Directors has the talent and know-how to steer
Tepha on its course to continued success. The Board is
responsible for oversight of the business and affairs of the
corporation. This includes management of the corporate assets
(funds, intellectual property, trademarks, and support
equipment) as well as allocation of corporate resources to projects.

Simon
Williams, Ph.D., Director
|
In addition to serving as President and C.E.O. of
Tepha, Dr. Williams also serves on the board of
directors.

Richard
Emmitt, Director
|
Dick Emmitt, a director of Tepha, is a general partner of The Vertical Group, a New
Jersey based medical device venture firm that succeeded the venture capital activities
of F. Eberstadt & Co. With more than thirty years experience in related venture
capital, investment banking, and equity research activities, Mr. Emmitt is recognized
as one of the leading experts on the health care industry. He currently serves on the
board of several public medical device companies, including American Medical Systems
and Wright Medical Group. Mr. Emmitt has also been involved in the successful
development of SciMed Life Systems and Xomed Surgical Products, which were ultimately
acquired by Boston Scientific and Medtronic. He holds an M.B.A. from Rutgers School of
Business.

Edward
Giles, Director
|
Edward Giles, a director of Tepha, has been the chairman of The Vertical Group since
1988. From 1979 through 1985, he was president of F. Eberstadt & Co., and then vice
chairman of Eberstadt Fleming. Mr. Giles received a B.Ch.E. from Princeton University
and a S.M. in industrial management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Edward
Muller, Director
|
Edward Muller, a director of Tepha, is chairman of Metabolix, where from 1993 to 1999,
he also served as president. Prior to joining Metabolix, Mr. Muller served Halcon
International in a number of functions, both technical and financial, ultimately
assuming C.E.O. responsibilities. Halcon was responsible for the development of
several key processes used in the production of raw materials for the polyester, nylon,
polystyrene, and polyurethane industries. Mr. Muller was active in technology
evaluation, financing and planning, and structuring of ventures to utilize these
technologies. He received a B.Ch.E. from The Cooper Union and an M.B.A. from New York
University.

Anthony
Sinskey, Sc.D., Director
|
Dr. Sinskey, a director of Tepha and a cofounder of Metabolix, is a professor in the
Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also
co-director of M.I.T.'s Program on the Pharmaceutical Industry (POPI). A joint
inventor (with Dr. Oliver Peoples) of Tepha's key patents, Dr. Sinskey is a
well-recognized expert on strategies and techniques for producing the Company’s
biomaterials. He is also a cofounder and director of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, a
leading biopharmaceutical company in the emerging area of network biology; plus he was
a member of the founding technical and scientific advisory team at Genzyme. Dr. Sinskey
earned a Sc.D. from M.I.T.
